St Gerard's International School has a well structured academic pathway to guide and develop pupils through the Junior and Pre-Vocational programmes. The Junior programme is targeted for pupils with basic academic abilities. Pupils who are academically challenged are taught Functional Academics and vocational skills through the Pre-Vocational programme. Pupils completing the Junior programme have the opportunity to move on to academic programmes at Senior level or Vocational programmes in Special needs schools in Singapore. The Pre-vocational programme prepares pupils for acquisition of life skills and vocational skills in preparation for job placement later in life.
